The secret of getting ahead is getting started.”

Hey there. I’m a twenty-something Brit who loves (& lives) for travelling in my spare time. Pre-pandemic, I was starting to see more of the world, but for now I’m focussing on exploring my own paradise: the UK. This blog will therefore focus on my UK adventures – memoirs of places I’ve been to, places I’d recommend checking out. Basically, a place where I can keep all of my travel stories and memories together.

I first caught the travelling bug just after I’d turned 17. Whilst I had been abroad before, this was the first time I’d been anywhere a substantial distance away – 24 hours on two planes😅😅. In what is without a doubt a very unusual school trip (and an experience I recognise I am privileged to have had), I went to Australia for 10 days. During these 10 days I checked out Sydney, Taronga Zoo, and the Blue Mountains. I was entranced by their beauty, and it instilled a passion to go and see the rest of the world. Since this trip I have been to several new countries (Monaco and Italy), and explored the USA on two separate occasions. I’ve ticked off California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah and I definitely will not leave my state total at four.

As mentioned above, more recently I’ve been focusing on the UK, and I’m privileged to have seen so many new parts in 2022 alone. I’ve been to most corners of England, and next I’m aiming to cross off more of Scotland and Wales. I am happy to give pretty much anywhere a visit and a chance; just like everywhere has a negative side, it usually will have a positive side too.

Aside from travel I work full-time in a Student Union, and I pretty much watch any sport going. I can’t drive (!), which has made me a huge advocate for public transport. I will fight to keep train line and bus routes open, because so many individuals like me are reliant on this, and some routes are in constant danger of being closed forever.

I hope you enjoy my posts 🙂
